Leveraging on the Cloud

The growing disruptive digital culture continues to urge enterprises, no matter how small or large, to migrate from traditional business processes and equip their employees with the necessary technology to maximize productivity in the workspace.

With the increase of available tools that provide business owners the opportunity to explore modern practices and systems, PLDT Enterprise and ePLDT, in partnership with Microsoft, hosted the first in a series of Lunch and Learn Workshops featuring Rosemarie Withee last July 26-27 in The Belle and Dragon, Makati City.

In a gathering of like-minded individuals ready to take on the digital space, Withee, lead author of “Microsoft Office 365 for Dummies,” shared insight on how cloud technology allows business owners to create a “virtual office,” with familiar, easy-to-use applications such as Sharepoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and Skype for Business.

“It is important to understand that the future of business is in the cloud,” said Christian Lim, Business Group Lead of Microsoft Philippines. “The goal of these workshops is to empower business owners to navigate these new and reliable innovations in order to grow.”

Microsoft Office 365 is a cloud-based collaborative platform that offers top-of-the-line productivity tools that enable mobility across all platforms, including iOS and Android devices. The tool allows managers and employees alike to create, edit, and share files from a desktop, tablet, or mobile device, whenever they would need it, and wherever they may be.

Together with features that give access to a range of communication tools to connect better with customers and colleagues, Office 365 builds company name recognition with simple, customizable marketing material. With information stored in the cloud, collaboration is made easy and data remains secure against cyber-attacks in the event of a hacked or stolen device.

PLDT VP and Head of SME Nation Mitch Locsin said, “PLDT SME Nation provides our customers with practical ways to play in the digital economy. Business solutions should be simple, easy, and accessible. And the Lunch & Learn session, like the one we had with Rosemarie Withee, is one of the ways we bring world-class technologies like Microsoft Office 365 to our customers which allows them to engage with subject matter experts and with each other in a social, casual, and comfortable setting.”

PLDT Enterprise, ePLDT and Microsoft continue to work together to enable the success of business owners with innovative technologies made tailor-fit for business. By providing technical expertise and the support for owners to get ahead in their industry, PLDT and Microsoft remain committed to help business or all sizes to utilize the power of enterprise grade technology to make it big in their businesses.
