Filipino entrepreneurs continue to face challenges today as they compete in the fast-paced digital world. In order to prepare micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) for the rapidly changing market, PLDT SME Nation and long-time partner, the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA), presented “Franchise Asia Philippines 2016” at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City last July 20 - 24.

With the goal of enabling Filipino business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, the four-day event served as a venue for learning and creating opportunities as well as strategic partnerships for MSMEs.

“Franchise Asia Philippines 2016,” which had the theme of Building Inclusive Growth Amidst a Hypercompetitive World, hoped to nurture all players of the Philippine franchise sectors through several interactive sessions that discussed industry topics relevant to their needs, such as using technology to adapt to today’s digital world.

Attendees were encouraged evolve their businesses with the digital age especially since social media and the Internet remain vital parts in the present culture. To help MSMEs embrace the emerging digital market, Head of PLDT SME Nation Mitch Locsin discussed the role of technology in a disruptive market and how it will drive MSMEs forward.

“We have to adapt as quickly as we can to keep up with the new digital and data-driven consumers. Through technology, we can change the way we engage with the disruptive market and make way for the growth of MSMEs all over the country,” Locsin elaborated.

By equipping businesses with necessary tools and solutions, PLDT SME Nation stays dedicated in empowering MSMEs as they strive to make it big in the digital age.
